What a great idea!  Have you heard of the Free Envirosaver Home Health Check available now to all households in Australia?  This initiative was started by the Australian Government's Green Loan Program which also funds interest-free loans for related improvements. 

A home sustainability assessor is invited into your home and will take about 90 minutes walking through and giving helpful ideas on how to make your home a greener place & possibly save you money.  Shortly after, you will also receive a detailed assessment of how well your household is doing environmentally and more detailed advice on key changes you can make.  If you are to go ahead and do some  of the changes recommened, you could be eligible for an interest-free loan on such important changes to your household such as solar energy, insulation, electricity solutions and rainwater harvesting.

Its so easy to say that its "too hard" to tackle climate change and the environmental issue when the problem is on such a large scale.  However by going ahead and looking at your own home, we can all make a positive difference in our own lives and make small changes that as a collective group - can be a big change.
