 EYE ON MANLY

Manly is a popular beach suburb of the Northern beaches in Sydney.  With water covering three sides of the suburb area, it is a haven for water enthusiasts and has a real 'out-doors' feel to it with lots of parks and open space.  Manly is home to a diverse range of residential, business, industrial & natural landscapes.  The area is well known for its natural environment with sandstone, bush & waterways all contributing to the beautiful landscape.

Manly is a very popular destination for tourists and boasts a strong bar & restaurant scene with many great options for entertaining available mainly around the popular 'the Corso' area.

Did you know...... Captain Arthur Phillip visited the area now known as Manly between 21st & 23rd January 1788 and was impressed by the 'manly' behaviour of the local aboriginies, the Gurringai people.  Thus it became known as 'Manly' !  On a more somber note though, in 1789 a smallpox epidemic spread through the local Aboriginal tribes and wiped out between 50 - 90% of the population.
