We’ve explored five moving misundertandings we hear again and again:
Tick Tock
One of the most common assumptions we hear is that removalists take their time because they’re paid by the hour. At Smoothmoves, with many moves under our belt, we’ve perfected the moving process and know that it’s better to do things correctly than quick. What may save an hour in rushing may end up costing a whole lot more in breakages due to corner cutting.
Same Same
We always remind people that ‘just because you can paint, doesn’t make you a painter.’ Quality removalists have experience and skill and simply owning a truck does not a removalist make. At Smoothmoves, experience is our differentiator and our return customers speak for themselves.
Boxed In
We do everything within our power to move you efficiently and effectively but there are some things that are beyond our control. When it comes to boxes, we have to work as a team. If you’re reusing old, tired boxes, it’s harder for us to get your things there in one piece. If you’re using your own boxes, make sure they’re strong and reinforced, especially the ones containing your cherished china. If you need quality boxes, we can supply them for you so you can rest assured you’re packing with the best.
Just a Jim Body
A lot of people are under the misconception that removalists are just hired help. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Our Smoothmoves team are all highly experienced, full time staff who are trained and employed by us. We don’t use subcontractors so you can depend on our effective, accountable movers.
Pack Perfect
In a perfect world, packing would be streamlined, neat and all done and dusted before we knock on your door. But we know that you’re busy and you’re doing the best you can. If it’s not possible to do all the nitty gritty like removing drawers and flat packing your furniture, we’ll take care of that for you. We have all the tools on hand to disassemble and assemble your furniture so that if you can’t manage the fiddly bits – we’ve got you covered.
