Often, once you count everything. The unit itself can look cheaper, but with self-storage you are usually also paying to hire a truck, paying movers twice, or spending a weekend doing it yourself. With mobile storage the module comes to you and your things are handled once. If you are storing a few cartons and can move them yourself, self-storage will probably win on price. Generally yes, and the reason is handling rather than the building. Every time your furniture is picked up, carried and set down is a chance for something to get chipped or scratched. With a module your things are loaded once at your door and unloaded once when it comes back. In between, the module is sealed and stored indoors at our Brookvale warehouse, and your items never leave it.
No. Our crew does the lifting, and every piece gets wrapped and padded on the day — 10 furniture pads come with each module. You decide what goes in and we take care of the rest. That is one of the main differences from a self-storage unit, where the loading is your problem.
Yes, with notice. Your module is sealed and stacked in our warehouse rather than sitting in an aisle, so we need to bring it down for you — give us a call and we will arrange a time. If you expect to need regular access, say so when you book and we will store it where it is easy to reach, or talk you through whether a self-storage unit would suit you better.
